Father's Day Treat's!!!!

Posted on August 25, 2013 at 7:18 AM Comments comments (3)
Father's Day
1st September
Can you believe Father's Day is here already?!!

Now, I know not as much thought goes in to celebrating us amazing dads as much as you well valued mums receive on Mothers day :-) but how about this year treat Dad to something with a bit more thought than a pack of socks, pants or chocolates from the supermarket.
This year you can make it look like you have put the effort in and have something handmade just for him!
Peek a boo will be open on Saturday 31st August
9am-5pm
There will be gift boxed cupcakes in 6's $25.00 or 12's $50

Lolly jars, gift buckets and candy treats will be available on the day

from $5.00-$30.00
So something for all budgets & pocket money :-)

So pop in and let your children buy dad a worthwhile treat while supporting a local family business
Pre-order cupcakes to avoid disappointment, they will be available to purchase on the day too but there will be limited stock.
...................................
Peek a boo's
Childrens Cupcake Decorating Classes

To coincide with Father's Day, I have chosen the occasion to start Peek a boo's Childrens cupcake decorating classes

They will be held on the last Saturday of every month with a different theme each month, this one 31st August which happens to be the day before Father's Day
So why not kill two birds with one stone and send your children along where they will take home a special gift box of their designed cupcakes for dad-send dad along with them and earn yourself a few hours peace & quiet :-)
Places are limited and are $55 each child including a take home gift box of Father's day cupcakes, afternoon tea for children and their helper (parents/guardian) and a certificate for their achievment which will also have a recipe card on the back.
It aims to be a fun afternoon with a great insight for children in to baking and decorating cupcakes,
I am looking forward to it!

There will also be a special gift bag for each 'Little Chef' from the lovely ladies at www.cutekidzparties.com.au!!
Check out Peek a boo's Facebook page events for more details
or email me for more info or to book your place!

As always, have a great week and I hope to see you next Saturday!!
Stock will be limited so please let me know in advance if you would like to pre order cupcakes.

Once again I have had some fantastic cake orders and great feed back!

I was privileged last week to get the chance to make a cake for a lovely lady who was turning 100!!

I thought she deserved a special Peek a boo treat.

She owns a haberdashery business in Manly and still opens 6 days a week at the age of 100!

I did a cotton reel cake with edible buttons, needle, tape measure etc

Mrs Morley Turns100!!!!

She loved it, she made it on to all of the news channels and newspapers so my cake got a fair bit of publicity too which was great

It's been a while!

Posted on April 17, 2013 at 1:12 AM Comments comments (106)
It's been a while!

Well, you can tell we've had another baby, I have only managed a couple of blogs!
But Hugo is now 8 months old and thankfully things are starting to settle down,
(it has been a challenge though)

A lot has happened since previous blogs, far to much to bore you with on here but a few milestones have come & gone- Peek-a-boo at Seaforth had it's first birthday last month, the website has now reached 20,000 visitors, with over 40,000 page views!!!!
Peek-a-boo's Facebook page is one "like" away from 200!!!
as I have said before if they all bought just one cupcake I'd be happy :-)

I have been asked to supply several different businesses which is exciting and keeps the orders flowing nicely.

A reminder that pre-ordered cupcakes (minimum box of 12) are available from the shop for daily collection, contact me via, email, text or phone to order!

Mother's day is coming soon Sunday 12th May I have already had a few very organised customers place orders. I will be doing gift boxed cupcakes which were very popular last year along with a few hand made sweet gifts!!!!

A Mother's day email shoot will follow later on this week with full details and prices!

(Here is a sneak look)

There will also be a "FREE" Ferrero Roche gift tree up for grabs for Mother's Day!!!
Details will be on Peek-a-boo's Facebook page this weekend

...................................

I have also had quite a few more wedding cake orders, along with more and more companies ordering cakes to promote their business/products or celebrate staff performance or company birthdays, as I say "what better way to celebrate your business or product than to eat it"
Email me with your business or product details and I will show you what we can create!!!

As always the feedback and compliments have been fantastic, if you have ordered over the last few months and I have not had chance to get back to you to thank you for your order, please let me take this opportunity to thank you and I hope you or who ever you surprised thoroughly enjoyed your Peek-a-boo creation!

Peek-a-boo grows best on recommendations, word of mouth and Google searches, although Facebook is working great, so many customers are getting in touch as they have seen my cakes on a friends facebook page or friend of a friend so head to www.facebook.com/www.peekaboopartycakes.com and please remember to "like" the page, not just the pictures:-) as well as "sharing" cakes you like to your Facebook page.

There are too many cakes to put on here, so here are a few of my favourite from the past few months.

There are plenty more to see on the website or Facebook page.

If you have had a cake and it is not on here that does not mean I do not like it :-)
I can't put them all on here!

There are a few new email addresses on this months list,
I send this blog link out normally every month.

You are receiving it if you are a customer or have had a connection to Peek-a-boo Party Cakes, I will not pass on your details to anyone else and will not fill up your inbox with unwanted emails but normally do send one every month.
If you would like to be taken off this list please do not hesitate to let me know or just send it to junk.
Otherwise I hope you enjoy it and pass it on :-)

As always, take care and enjoy the rest of the week,

Movember already!!

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 8:31 PM Comments comments (99)
Hello all,
We have got a lot to catch up on, sorry if it is a bit long!!
October was a great month with a lot of exciting cakes and really nice customers as always!! and plenty of fantastic orders coming in already for the next few months which is very reassuring.

I have received a few great corporate orders for company celebrations lately which is something I am looking at promoting more, so if your company has a celebration of any kind coming up pass on my details.
(There could be a cupcake gift box voucher in it for you if they order)
Christmas orders are coming in thick and fast, again a few big name companies have ordered for staff gifts and also to give out to suppliers and customers.
One of the biggest sellers so far are the Christmas Cupcake gift box

There is also an option of having one of the cupcakes with your company logo
and Christmas message as an edible disc.
Please contact me for more details.
A couple of orders have been placed already to have them as Christmas gifts for teachers for the end of term, they are also great for colleagues or friends,
(more personal than a box of chocs from the supermarket)

I have a few dates already fully booked out for December so get in quick.
The Giant Christmas Cupcake is also a great option as a celebration for: office's, team's, staffroom's, Mothers groups or just about any other excuse you could think of.

These can also be ordered with additional Christmas tree Cupcakes

The Candy/Lolly buffets are proving to be a hit. These are great for any occasion and can be colour co-ordinated to your party, function or company colours.
They can be done for 35 - 5000 people so please let me know if you have any questions

Great news for me this week is my "Monster" oven has been fitted
(by a great plumber if anybody needs one)
I am having a test run this afternoon it should fit atleast 100 cupcakes ago insted of the 24 ago I have been using, which will be great for the 2000 cupcakes I already
have on order for December!!!!!
I promised in the last blog that I would update the "Testimonies" on my website, which I have collated and will do soon, for now I will list a few on here.
Here are a few of my favourite orders from last month:
George's Pirate cake
Everyone enjoyed the cake. It was fantastic. Thanks.

Commonwealth Bank Farewell Mark
(Batman marathon cake)

"Fantastic cake Neil, thank you so much for pulling this off with such short notice, from the few details we gave you, you created a perfect farewell cake, enough for 180 people!
It tasted delicious and Mark was absolutely delighted,
much more original than a bottle of Whiskey or wine.
We will be in-touch for the next occasion"

Anne's 75th Birthday
"Dear Neil,
I just wanted to let you know how beautiful the cake looked and tasted. Everyone loved the flavours and the colour. Mum had a great time and the cake made the occasion that little bit more special. Thank you so much. We'll definitely be in touch for the next one!"

Joshua's Soccer cake
Gabi's Health and Happiness Party
"Morning Neil, Just wanted to say thank you so very much for yesterday. Cakes looked beautiful....had just 3 little cup cakes left plus the big one. Butter cream icing was a particular hit.

Thank you for being so great to deal with and for the exceptional job you did"
Pete's Surfboard Cake
"Hi Neil,
A HUGE HUGE thank you for the cake. Pete loved it & everyone there thought it was absolutely fantastic. Lots of people asking where it was from so all your cards handed out. Along with a few other surprises it really made the night personal. Great job !!!!
Once I jump onto FB and see it there I will comment there for you aswell"
Nick's Shark Surprise
(His childrens' design)
"Hi Neil,
Many thanks to you for the fantastic cake - everyone loved it and we are just finishing off the remnants now!! Will definitely be in touch again, and if anyone I know is after a cake for any occasion, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you"

Our new addition to the family is doing great, Hugo is well over his reflux which we are very grateful to Katherine who is a chiropractor with a practice next door but one from my shop (one in the city too). We are telling anybody who will listen how great she was with Hugo, a lot of people have told us since, about the benefits they have had for themselves and their children from chiropractors so take a look

If anybody is wondering what the poor effort of a gingery, blondy shadow above my top lip is,
I am supporting "MOVEMBER" It is a great charity supporting Mens Health, you basically try!!!!! and grow a "Mo" for the whole of November and hopefully get a few sponsors along the way.
If anybody remembers my atrocious attempts of growing a "Mo" in my late teens & early 20's they know it will not be a masculine lip rug or
handle bar "Mo" but a poor attempt of a dodgy milk "Mo"
which will make me look like my dad!!!

Check out the link below to my "Mo Bro" page for more details and to donate to this great cause, I will do a Mo cake for the biggest donation I receive through the link below which will be announced at the end of the event!
If anybody wants to join me let me know, ladies can become 'Mo Sista's' too (no need to grow a Mo, just support Mo Bro's)
http://mobro.co/neilsmithpeekaboopartycakes
Hugo is my first supporter!!!
As allways, thank you for taking a look at my blog, please pass it on to anybody you think may be interested.
Peek-a-boo's Facebook page is the best way to keep up to date with my latest cakes, please click on and like my page:

I never imagined how many orders I would receive through Facebook so please "like" my page, my cakes and even share them to your page to spread the word more :-)

Take care
Have a great day

Neil

Llama's to Kombi Vans!

Posted on September 27, 2012 at 7:40 PM Comments comments (8)
Good morning all, how great is this Sunny day, I hope it lasts for the long weekend!!
Well here we are, a very overdue blog.

As you can imagine it has been a bit 'hectic' at The Smith household of late (to say the least)
Hugo is 6 weeks old now and starting to show his very sleep deprived parents his beautiful smile!

The last few weeks have seen some great orders come in resulting in some of my favourite cakes going out. Quite a few of them have been repeat customers which always pleases me.

One of the things I have neglected on my website is the Testimonies,
I get fantastic feedback and will be collating them and updating the website after the weekend.

I have done such a variety of cakes over the last few weeks from an engagement cake a Llama cake to Hoot the Owl to a Kombi Van, and a wedding cake for a great couple Chris & Kylie as well as many more,
I say it every month but I really do think these are some of my favourites.

The most memorable is undoubtedly "The Toilet Cake" for the Manly to Manado Walk.
It was a great day and helped raise more awareness for this fantastic event and charity, well done to all the organisers and thank you to Jes Stovold for instigating this cake. The Manly Daily picked up on the story and gave us a great article
This weekend is Cupcake Saturday
Saturday 29th September
10am-2pm
First Cupcake per person is $1 "bring the whole family" :-) then they are $3.50 thereafter.

As always it is a great chance to come along to the shop and sample delicious Cupcakes.
There is no obligation what so ever to buy more , it would just be great to see you there
(Although there will be plenty of delicious flavours available for to take home)
 in boxes of
 4's-5's,6's,8's & 12's
A few people have already pre-ordered to take along to the Jazz festival!

........................................................

Peek-a-boo is really starting to take off now-Thank God!
A lot of it is down to you guy's spreading the word, if there is anyone you have left out so far or you think would like to read my blog please forward it on to them, it is a great way to have a look at my latest cakes, especially if you are not on Facebook.
If you are on Facebook please head to our page "like" us and keep up to date with what is going on-

Well I must go, I have figures and roses to make and a
few hundred Cupcakes!!!!
It would be great to see you at Cupcake Saturday tomorrow,
if not have a great weekend and I hope to see you soon.

Here are my favourites from the past few weeks
